Role Description The Account Manager will oversee and grow relationships with new and existing customers in the cable, IT, and telecommunications sectors. This full-time, on-site role based in Skokie, IL involves managing customer accounts, understanding hardware and service needs, preparing quotes, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of equipment and services.

The Account Manager will proactively identify sales opportunities, follow up on leads, and maintain a pipeline of opportunities using CRM tools. Daily activities include responding to customer inquiries, resolving issues, monitoring order status, and collaborating with operations, logistics, and technical staff to meet customer expectations.

The role also requires regular reporting on account performance, participation in pricing and negotiation discussions, and contributing to continuous improvement of customer service processes.

Qualifications

  • Customer relationship management skills, including account oversight, client communication, and issue resolution.
  • Sales and business development skills, such as lead follow-up, opportunity identification, and negotiation of pricing and terms.
  • Organizational and administrative skills, including CRM usage, accurate documentation, and coordination with cross-functional teams.
  • Basic technical understanding of networking hardware (e.g., routers, switches, optics, fiber) or willingness to learn quickly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present solutions clearly to diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, presentation tools) and comfort working with data.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented work style with the ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience in account management, sales, or customer service, ideally in telecommunications, IT, or hardware distribution.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or a related field is preferred but not required.
