Job Description And Duties

This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by carrying out complex administrative and analytical tasks to support Public Health Reportable Information Exchange (PRIME) Branch operations.

The Analyst II manages sensitive and confidential administrative assignments, developing and maintaining effective working relationships with CDPH management, staff, and programs, preparing reports and correspondence, resolving operational problems, supporting Branch personnel processes, coordinating procurement actions, and performing analytical work that improves PRIME Administrative Unit functions. This position requires initiative, independent judgement, tact, confidentiality, and the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines. The incumbent should be able to work with staff at all levels of state government as well as contract staff.

The incumbent works under the direction of the Supervisor I, Chief of the Administration Unit (AU).

In July 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025. This program temporarily reduces employees’ monthly base pay in exchange for paid leave credits. This position is subject to PLP 2025 and will have a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027. The salary ranges shown on this job posting do not reflect the salary reduction.
