<h2><strong>Controller / Senior Accountant (Healthcare – Dialysis Services)</strong></h2> <p><strong>Location:</strong> Remote (U.S.-based preferred)<br><strong>Employment Type:</strong> Full-Time<br><strong>Reports To:</strong> CEO</p> <h3><strong>About the Company</strong></h3> <p>We are a rapidly growing dialysis services organization focused on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across multiple states. With expanding operations and multiple entities under management, we are seeking a highly organized and experienced Controller / Senior Accountant to help build and maintain strong financial infrastructure as we scale.</p> <h3><strong>Position Overview</strong></h3> <p>The Controller / Senior Accountant will oversee day-to-day financial operations across six entities with combined annual collections exceeding $6M. This role is responsible for full-cycle accounting, bill pay, payroll oversight, and financial reporting, while ensuring compliance with multi-state regulations.</p> <p>This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a growth environment and is comfortable owning both strategic financial reporting and transactional accounting processes.</p> <h3><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h3> <p><strong>Accounting & Financial Management</strong></p> <ul><li>Manage full-cycle accounting for six related entities</li><li>Maintain accurate general ledgers using accrual-based accounting</li><li>Prepare and analyze monthly <strong>Profit & Loss (P&L)</strong> statements and <strong>Balance Sheets</strong></li><li>Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes</li><li>Ensure consistency across entities with shared vendors and cost structures</li></ul> <p><strong>Accounts Payable (AP) & Bill Pay</strong></p> <ul><li>Oversee all bill pay processes across entities</li><li>Maintain vendor relationships and ensure timely payments</li><li>Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities</li></ul> <p><strong>Accounts Receivable (AR)</strong></p> <ul><li>Provide <strong>weekly AR reporting</strong> to CEO</li><li>Track collections and aging reports</li><li>Work closely with operations to improve revenue cycle efficiency</li></ul> <p><strong>Payroll & Contractor Management</strong></p> <ul><li>Process payroll for ~10 full-time employees using Gusto</li><li>Manage payments for ~10 independent contractors</li><li>Ensure payroll tax compliance across multiple states</li></ul> <p><strong>Tax & Compliance</strong></p> <ul><li>Ensure compliance with <strong>multi-state tax regulations</strong></li><li>Coordinate with external CPAs for tax filings and audits</li><li>Maintain proper documentation and internal controls</li></ul> <p><strong>Reporting & Leadership</strong></p> <ul><li>Provide <strong>weekly AP and AR updates</strong> to CEO</li><li>Assist in developing financial dashboards and KPIs</li><li>Support strategic decision-making with financial insights</li><li>Help build scalable accounting processes as the company grows</li></ul> <h3><strong>Qualifications</strong></h3> <p><strong>Required:</strong></p> <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field</li><li>5+ years of accounting experience (Controller or Senior Accountant level preferred)</li><li>Strong experience with <strong>accrual-based accounting</strong>, P&L, and balance sheets</li><li>Experience managing multiple entities simultaneously</li><li>Payroll experience (preferably with Gusto or similar platform)</li><li>Experience with <strong>multi-state tax compliance</strong></li><li>High attention to detail and strong organizational skills</li><li>Ability to work independently in a remote environment</li></ul> <p><strong>Preferred:</strong></p> <ul><li>Prior experience in <strong>healthcare</strong> (dialysis, home health, or medical services strongly preferred)</li><li>Experience in high-growth or multi-entity organizations</li><li>CPA or CPA-track candidate</li></ul> <h3><strong>Compensation & Benefits</strong></h3> <ul><li>Competitive salary (based on experience)</li><li><strong>Virtually unlimited PTO</strong> (flexible time off policy)</li><li><strong>401(k) with employer match</strong></li><li>Health insurance through Blue Cross Blue Shield for primary employee</li><li>Additional dependent coverage options available</li><li>Fully remote work environment</li><li>Opportunity to grow into a leadership role as the company expands</li><li>Direct access to CEO and involvement in strategic decisions</li></ul> <h3><strong>Why Join Us?</strong></h3> <p>This role offers the opportunity to build and shape the financial backbone of a growing healthcare company.
