Data Engineer

FocusKPI is looking for a <strong>Data Engineer</strong> to join our client's growing team and spearhead analyses, providing meaningful insights into their users and product.<br><br><strong><u>Work Location:</u> </strong>100% remote and ideally able to work New York EST hours<br><u><strong>Duration:</strong></u> 5 months/ 40 hrs per week<br><strong><u>Pay Range:</u> </strong>$45 - $55/hr<br><br><b><u>Responsibilities:</u> </b><ul><li>The initial project will be moving DBT models that currently run in Spark SQL to run in Redshift</li><li>Need to have the business intuition to roughly understand the business logic in the existing data model and make sure the new one meets their needs</li><li>Team would also like you to do some CI/CD work around their DBT job, where Python, GitHub Actions, and Airflow would be helpful</li><li>Support new product launches, A/B testing, ramp-up recommendations, and root cause investigation</li><li>Be constantly curious and continue to pursue in-depth explorations of the datasets</li><li>Leverage new techniques to investigate their data and incorporate external information to boost our knowledge of this market</li><li>Communicate complicated data findings in a clear and concise manner to our multi-disciplined teams</li><li>Collaborate with stakeholders, including product, marketing, finance, etc., on initiatives that improve our company-level KPIs and match our business priorities</li><li>Ad-hoc analysis to address urgent high-impact analysis for business stakeholders</li></ul><u><strong>Qualifications:</strong></u><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in the Computer field, which requires logical, creative thinking, STEM majors, MS degree preferred</li><li>5+ years of industry experience is required</li><li>Expertise in <strong>SQL </strong>(Need to have strong skills)</li><li>Strong experience in <strong>Spark/PySpark, Python, Scala, Airflow,</strong> and <strong>AWS</strong></li><li>Experience with <strong>DBT,</strong> <strong>Redshift</strong></li><li>Experience with <strong>data models</strong></li><li>Experience with <strong>CI/CD</strong></li><li>Experience<strong> </strong>with<strong> Python, GitHub, </strong>and<strong> Airflow </strong>is a huge plus to have</li><li>Experience collaborating with and understanding the needs of stakeholders from a variety of business functions, including product, marketing, finance, and so on</li><li>Experience in handling large-scale data with efficiency</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills</li><li>Experience in Financial Services or FinTech preferred</li></ul> <p>Thank you!</p><p>FocusKPI Hiring Team</p><p>Founded in 2010, FocusKPI, Inc.
