What You Will Do

• Visit pets in the client's home for drop-in care — feeding, freshening water, cleaning litter boxes, and providing companionship
• Provide overnight pet sitting in the client's home for pets that require continuous overnight care
• Send real-time updates to clients during and after each visit — photo updates, GPS-tracked walk routes, and written care notes through the service app
• Handle basic emergencies — lost pet protocol, minor injuries, and urgent veterinary contact — calmly and per the service's emergency guidelines
• Lock and secure the client's home correctly after every visit, following the key or lockbox protocol
• Report any home access issues, pet behavior changes, or safety concerns to the service coordinator promptly

What You Need

• Genuine love of animals — this job is built around pets and clients can tell immediately if you actually enjoy being with animals
• Physical ability to walk 3 – 8 miles per day across walking shifts and handle dogs of various sizes on a leash
• Reliability and trustworthiness — pet owners are giving you access to their home and trusting you completely with their animals
• Smartphone with the service app installed — client communication and visit documentation are app-based
• Valid driver's license or reliable transportation to client homes across the service area
• Must be 18 or older — background check required for home access

Nice to Have

• Previous dog walking, pet sitting, or veterinary assistant experience
• Pet first aid and CPR certification
• Experience with multiple dog management and leash handling
