Telework will not be permitted outside the state of Kentucky.<br><br> The Kentucky Department of Education is a service agency of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and part of the Education and Workforce Development Cabinet. The department provides resources and guidance to Kentucky’s public schools and districts as they implement the state’s P-12 education requirements. The department also serves as the state liaison for federal education requirements and funding opportunities.<br><br> The department is led by an appointed commissioner of education, who is hired by and answers to the 11-member Kentucky Board of Education. Offices are administered by associate commissioners, and divisions within those offices are administered by division directors. We look forward to reviewing your application!<br><br> Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: <ul><li>Provide consultative services and technical assistance to local educators through the Student Leadership Development Branch in the development and improvement of career and technical education programs by planning, developing, implementing and evaluating materials and resources in curriculum development and program planning. </li><li> Coordinate activities of career and technical student organization, Technology Student Association (TSA). Provide guidance in the implementation of career and technical student organization, (CTSO) activities at local, regional and state level including but not limited to state and regional career development events. </li><li> Provide leadership and technical assistance to districts, schools and teachers to facilitate the full implementation of Engineering, Computer Science, Aviation and Media Arts education programs related to CTSO, TSA. Develop materials to plan and conduct professional learning activities for both internal office use and presentations for state/national workshops and meetings. </li><li> Provide leadership in the planning, development and implementation and monitoring of the middle and secondary Engineering, Computer Science, Aviation and Media Arts programs including related career and technical student organization, TSA. Collaborate with business/industry curriculum advisory task force groups and other stakeholders in planning, developing and implementing materials. </li><li> Serve on integrated teams and/or workgroups as assigned to implement initiatives and strategic priorities of the Office of Career and Technical Education. </li><li> Demonstrate initiative to meet the needs of the Office of Career and Technical Education. Seek to improve processes.
