Role Description The Event Server is a part-time, on-site role based in Philadelphia, PA, supporting catered events in a variety of venues. This role is responsible for setting up event spaces, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, and service stations according to event specifications. Day-to-day tasks include providing attentive table service, delivering food and beverages, clearing plates, and maintaining a clean and organized environment throughout the event.

The Event

Server works closely with the culinary and events teams to ensure smooth service flow, respond to guest needs, and uphold food safety and sanitation standards. This role also involves assisting with event breakdown, proper storage of equipment, and contributing to a positive, professional atmosphere for guests and colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Experience in event service, catering, or restaurant front-of-house roles, with strong guest service and hospitality skills.
  • Ability to carry trays, stand for extended periods, and move quickly and safely in busy event environments.
  • Knowledge of basic food and beverage service standards, including table settings, serving etiquette, and handling special dietary requests.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow instructions and coordinate with event and culinary staff.
  • Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and professionalism, with attention to detail and a focus on guest satisfaction.
  • Availability to work variable hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on the event schedule.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior experience in catering or banquets is a plus.
  • Compliance with all applicable health, safety, and sanitation guidelines; food handler certification is beneficial.
