Role Overview
We are seeking a meticulous, detail‑oriented Evening Specimen Processor & Data Entry Specialist to join our laboratory operations team. In this role, you will be the first line of defense in ensuring that every specimen is accurately logged, safely handled, and routed for testing. Your work will support the entire patient care journey, from specimen receipt to result reporting, all while maintaining strict adherence to safety, compliance, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Specimen Reception & Routing – Receive incoming specimens, verify patient identifiers, and route samples to the appropriate testing stations.
- Data Entry & Validation – Enter laboratory requests into the LIS (Laboratory Information System), double‑check test orders, and flag discrepancies for corrective action.
- Safety & Compliance Champion – Follow all biosafety protocols, wear appropriate PPE, and maintain a clean, hazard‑free work environment.
- Quality Control & Assurance – Participate in daily QC checks, document findings, and collaborate with QA staff to resolve any issues.
- Patient‑Centric Support – While you may not interact face‑to‑face, your accuracy and efficiency directly impact patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Documentation & Reporting – Maintain accurate logs of specimen handling, data entry activities, and any incidents or deviations.

Essential Qualifications
