Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Alpharetta, GA is $105K - $110K/year & benefits (see below).Position Overview
Job Functions/Duties and Responsibilities:- Solve complex engineering problems and lead system design and development activities.
- Understand business processes, a bigger picture and core ideas behind the developed software. Define engineering guidelines and quality control pipeline; perform code reviews.
- Advocate and advance toward cutting edge engineering practices.
- Working in the Agile development methodologies, collaborating with business and technology teams located globally.
- Actively contribute and participate in sprint grooming and planning discussions, daily stand-ups, and Agile ceremonies
- Work with various teams and stakeholders across geography and time zones.
Skills Required:
- Experience in data, business intelligence, analytics, or reporting-focused roles.
- 3+ years of hands-on Power BI development experience.
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and scorecards.
- Build and maintain semantic models, DAX calculations, measures, and reusable reporting assets.
- Create intuitive visualizations supporting operational, management, and executive-level reporting.
- Validate report accuracy and ensure alignment with business definitions and KPIs.
- Support report testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), production deployment, and post-production support.
- Analyze business data to identify trends, insights, and reporting opportunities.
- Strong experience with DAX, Power Query, semantic models, and report development.
- Strong proficiency with SQL and database development, including stored procedures, functions, and performance tuning.
- Demonstrated experience in database design and development using SQL Server (preferred) or other enterprise database platforms.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise databases such as SQL Server, DB2, Oracle, and/or Teradata.
- Experience working within Agile delivery methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain database objects, including stored procedures and functions.
- Support data integration, ETL, and data transformation processes.
- Work with BI and data integration tools such as Informatica, Tableau, and Power BI.
- Assist in data validation, reconciliation, and performance optimization initiatives.
- Power BI Administration & Governance
- Support workspace administration, report security, and access management.
- Assist with deployment pipelines, release management, and production support processes.
- Ensure compliance with security controls, entitlements, data governance, and enterprise reporting standards.
- Support monitoring of data refresh schedules, report performance, and operational issues.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements, KPIs, and success metrics.
- Lead requirements gathering sessions and translate business needs into analytical and reporting solutions.
- Proactively identify gaps, ambiguities, data quality issues, and reporting risks; drive resolution through collaboration with stakeholders.
- Translate business questions into actionable analytics, dashboards, and reporting capabilities.
- Collaborate effectively with business users, technology teams, and offshore/onshore partners across regions and time zones.
- Lead discussions, clarify requirements, and provide regular status updates throughout the development lifecycle.
- Proficiency with Git and modern source control/development workflows (e.g., branching, code reviews, CI-friendly practices).
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including scalable, resilient system design and sound engineering principles.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining BI dashboards using Tableau and/or Power BI.
- Experience working with the Snowflake data platform (e.g., data modeling, performance considerations, and best practices).
- Proven delivery experience in Agile environments (e.g., Scrum/Kanban), including iterative development and stakeholder collaboration.
- Strong Python skills applied to data use cases, including:
- Data engineering and automation (data extraction/transformation, process automation, database/API integrations; e.g., pandas, SQLAlchemy)
- Analytics and reporting (data analysis, reusable workflows; e.g., pandas, NumPy)
- ETL pipeline support (orchestration support, reusable utilities, and data quality validation/checks)
- Working knowledge of database fundamentals, covering both relational and NoSQL technologies.
- Basic familiarity with DevOps concepts and practices (e.g., CI/CD fundamentals, environment management, and deployment hygiene).
- Proven ability to partner with business stakeholders and drive delivery outcomes.
- Strong growth mindset with a demonstrated commitment to excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Understanding of large-scale enterprise applications, governance frameworks, and security requirements.
- Financial services, lending, mortgage, risk, or wealth management experience is a plus.
