What You’ll Do: <ul> <li>Support day to day German accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely bookkeeping</li> <li>Partner with external accounting providers and review local accounting deliverables</li> <li>Prepare and post journal entries (revenue, accruals, prepaids, payroll, invoices, intercompany, etc.)</li> <li>Support and improve month-end close and reconciliations (bank, AP/AR, etc.)</li> <li>Help manage and ensure compliance with: <ul> <li>German payroll</li> <li>Tax/compliance</li> <li>Statutory reporting requirements</li> </ul> </li> <li>Ensure clean documentation and internal controls in a fast-moving startup environment</li> <li>Support German GAAP year end reporting and liaise with auditors/advisors as needed</li> <li>Act as primary point of contact for limited office operations</li> </ul> What You’ll Bring: <ul> <li>5+ years experience in accounting (startup/scale up experience strongly preferred)</li> <li>Background as Senior Accountant / Buchhalter</li> <li>Strong understanding of German GAAP, German charts of accounts (SKR 03 or SKR 04), and debits & credits</li> <li>Utilize AI tools to streamline finance tasks, including DATEV and Excel</li> <li>Experience working with accounting software/ERP (posting journals, reconciliations, and close processes) and hands on accounting execution</li> <li>DATEV systems experience required; Netsuite, Everest and/or Quickbooks experience a plus</li> <li>Systems implementations experience a plus</li> <li>Familiarity with German payroll/tax/compliance topics (hands on or partner management) (VAT, OSS, corporate & trade tax, withholding tax, etc.)</li> <li>Comfortable with ambiguity and building processes from scratch</li> <li>Fluency in German (C1) and solid English skills (B2 - C1) (reading and writing)</li> <li>Nice to Have: Experience as Steuerfachangestellter/in and/or Big 4 experience</li> </ul> <div>€45,000 - €65,000 a year</div><div>Salary is determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and alignment with the requirements of the role, as well as internal equity and market benchmarks.</div> At Inkitt, we strive to build a company culture and provide employment opportunities based on diversity and inclusion.
