We’re looking for a Backend Scala Engineer to help architect and scale a next-gen AI platform used by enterprise customers across industries. You’ll join a high-caliber engineering team building intelligent systems that integrate data, inference engines, and scalable APIs to power real-time AI workflows.

What You’ll Do
- Design and implement scalable Scala services that handle high-throughput data processing and AI orchestration
- Build APIs and microservices to support inference pipelines, data ingest, and model lifecycle events
- Collaborate with ML engineers to productize models into production-ready services
- Contribute to system architecture, database design, and CI/CD automation
- Write clean, testable code and participate in code reviews
Tech Stack
- Languages Scala (primary), Python (secondary)
- Frameworks/Build Tools Akka, Play, ZIO, SBT
- Infra AWS, Docker, Kafka, Postgres, GitHub Actions
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years building backend systems with Scala (or functional programming proficiency)
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architecture
- Experience working on data-heavy or AI/ML-adjacent systems
- Startup experience or comfort working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
