Senior Staff Geospatial Software Engineer Purpose:Our goal is to build planet-scale geospatial data platforms that accelerate sustainable agriculture. At Bayer Crop Science our mission is to develop agriculture solutions for a sustainable future that help meet the challenges of feeding a global population projected to grow to over 9.6 billion by 2050. This includes research and development of innovative modern agriculture solutions based on biotechnology and plant breeding, developing science based products including seeds and crop protection products, and modern analytics that help identify the best crop system for each acre. To accomplish this mission we are capturing petabytes of data in our operational systems including everything from genome sequencing data, to manufacturing, supply chain and finance systems. This includes a tremendous volume of scientific data from field trials that requires complex analysis in order to extract meaningful information, and our mission is to understand that data and create software that will help make decisions at scales that has never been possible before. This role may be residence-based in the US. line-height: normal; margin-top: 0in; margin-right: 0in;">Experience in design and implementation of Foss4G solutions, particularly leveraging GeoServer, PostGIS, and QGIS with an emphasis on vector data models;</li><li style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: normal; margin-top: 0in; margin-right: 0in;">Extensive experience in system design and architecture for large-scale, distributed applications;</li><li style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: normal; margin-top: 0in; margin-right: 0in;">Experience with creating and maintaining containerized application deployments;</li><li style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: normal; margin-top: 0in; margin-right: 0in;">Familiarity with developing in, deploying to, and working with Kubernetes cluster infrastructure;</li><li style="margin-bottom: 0in;
