Under general supervision, works as a crew leader for their specific crew, on assigned sewer maintenance programs/projects such as cleaning sewer lines, storm lines and performing construction work; and performs related duties as required.Works as crew leader carrying out routine cleaning of sewer lines and maintenance of the sewer system. Disassembles and cleans sewer and storm pumps and assists with repairs on sewer and storm pump motors. Carries out extermination program to control cockroaches and rats; Operates various equipment and/or tools for sewer maintenance, specialized sewer equipment such as video inspection truck, combination truck, Hydro-Jet sewer cleaning truck, crane truck, cement mixing machine, vacuum trucks, engine-powered bucket machine, self-loading dump truck and miscellaneous equipment such as backhoe, dump trucks, loaders and jackhammers. A minimum passing score of 70% is required. NOTE: Admission to the Examination may be limited to those applicants who demonstrate the best combination of qualifications.
