Pay Rate : $45/hr on W2

Summary: Perform full attended overnight polysomnography (PSG) recordings in a clinical sleep research study. Responsible for patient hookup, real-time signal monitoring, troubleshooting, and data offload. Working in a dedicated sleep laboratory with 2-3 beds per site.

Responsibilities

  • Perform full PSG hookups: EEG (10-20 system), EOG, chin EMG, bilateral masseter EMG, ECG, nasal pressure, thermistor, RIP belts, SpO2, body position sensor, acoustic microphone
  • Verify electrode impedance (<5 kOhm for EEG, <10 kOhm for EMG) using real-time impedance monitoring
  • Perform bio-calibration including maximum voluntary clench for masseter EMG baseline
  • Initiate and verify sponsor synchronisation signal capture via auxiliary input
  • Monitor PSG signals in real-time throughout the recording; troubleshoot electrode displacement, signal artifacts, and equipment issues
  • Accommodate co-sleeper setup when scheduled (second bed in room, consent verified)
  • Accommodate participants using CPAP/BiPAP devices during recording
  • Perform post-recording data offload within 1 hour of session completion
  • Complete session documentation (impedance log, signal quality notes, events, participant observations)
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance: electrode cleaning, belt sanitisation, device charging
  • Escalate failed sessions to Data Manager within 2 hours

Requirements

  • RPSGT credential (current) [REQUIRED]. CPSGT considered with demonstrated attended-PSG competency.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience performing attended in-lab PSG
  • Proficiency with Nox Medical systems (Nox A1s / Noxturnal) — strongly preferred
  • Experience with full EEG montage (10-20 system), not just respiratory channels
  • Experience applying bilateral masseter EMG electrodes — preferred (training provided if not)
  • Familiarity with AASM technical standards for PSG acquisition
  • Ability to work overnight shifts (7 PM - 7 AM) for 6+ consecutive weeks
  • CPR/BLS certification (current)

Preferred

  • Experience in a research (non-clinical/non-diagnostic) sleep lab setting
