This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building scalable systems, solving real-world problems, and contributing to products that impact millions of customers across Africa. You’ll work in a collaborative, agile environment where your ideas matter, your skills grow, and your work delivers meaningful outcomes. <h2>What You’ll Be Doing</h2> <ul> <li> Design, develop, and maintain .NET Core applications and microservices that power critical financial services. </li> <li> Build and integrate secure, scalable RESTful APIs across multiple systems. </li> <li> Design, optimise, and manage MySQL databases, ensuring performance and reliability. </li> <li> Collaborate closely with Product Owners, BAs, DevOps, and fellow engineers to deliver high-quality features. </li> <li> Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to uphold engineering excellence. </li> <li> Continuously improve development practices, tools, and processes within the team. </li> </ul> <h2>What We’re Looking For</h2> <ul> <li> Proven experience as a Software Engineer in a professional development environment. </li> <li> Strong proficiency in .NET Core, with exposure to microservices architecture, DDD, and hexagonal architecture. </li> <li> Solid experience with MySQL, including schema design and performance optimisation. </li> <li> Strong understanding of RESTful API design, security, and integration best practices. </li> <li> Experience using Docker and container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes. </li> <li> Proficiency with Git, GitHub, and GitLab, including modern branching and CI workflows. </li> <li> Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices. </li> <li> Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies. </li> <li> Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a sense of ownership for delivered solutions. </li> <li> A collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills.</li></ul> I am sure you are reading this job description and meet majority of the criteria BUT you may also still not be 100% comfortable in applying.
