<h3><strong><span style="color: #b4b6bd">Job Description</span></strong></h3><p><span style="color: #b4b6bd">We are looking for a talented and experienced Technical Gameplay Animator who is ready to let their work create a unique and fun multiplayer ARPG combat style. Working closely together with the animation and development teams, you will own how animation is turned into a great gameplay feel. This position requires a high level of mastery with Unreal Engine to achieve the best looking and feeling combat in a modern multiplayer action RPG.</span></p><h3><strong><span style="color: #b4b6bd">About Illuvium</span></strong></h3><p><span style="color: #b4b6bd">Illuvium Labs is an independent game development studio based in the UAE. We hire based on people’s abilities to adapt and change quickly, valuing underlying core abilities above specific skill sets.</span></p><br><br><h3><strong><span style="color: #b4b6bd">Responsibilities</span></strong></h3><ul><li><p><span style="color: #b4b6bd">Integrate and maintain all character combat animations inside Unreal Engine.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color: #b4b6bd">Polish combat timing, transitions, cancels, anticipation, hit reactions and more to edge out perfect responsiveness and impact.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color: #b4b6bd">Add gameplay juice through tight synchronization with VFX and audio.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color: #b4b6bd">Become an avid playtester, integrating your own product findings with those of others, players or fellow designers and developers.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color: #b4b6bd">Collaborate with the design team with thoughtful feedback and suggestions on what is needed to get to great feeling action combat.</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color: #b4b6bd">Debug and optimize the overall animation pipeline for player and enemy interactions.</span></p></li></ul><h3><strong><span style="color: #b4b6bd">Skills & Qualifications</span></strong></h3><ul><li><p><span style="color: #b4b6bd">2+ years of experience as a Technical Animator on shipped action combat games</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color: #b4b6bd">Strong proficiency in Unreal Engine animation components and integrating animations from Maya</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color: #b4b6bd">Deep understanding of animation principles as they apply to gameplay</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color: #b4b6bd">Solid experience with character rigging and skinning in Maya or similar tools</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color: #b4b6bd">A portfolio or reel of polished in-game combat and gameplay animations</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color: #b4b6bd">Ability to work iteratively and independently in a small team environment</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color: #b4b6bd">Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for making combat feel great</span></p></li><li><p><span style="color: #b4b6bd">Fluent English</span></p></li></ul><h3><strong><span style="color: #b4b6bd">Location</span></strong></h3><p><span style="color: #b4b6bd">This job is 100% remote and we are looking to recruit the best talent globally.</span></p><p style="min-height: 1.7em;"></p><p style="min-height: 1.7em;"></p>
