The Opportunity At Medibank and Amplar, we are passionate about transforming healthcare in Australia and making it accessible for everyone. What started as an initiative for our employees has now grown into a groundbreaking virtual GP service that supports over 250,000 overseas students studying in Australia, as part of Medibank’s Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) program. We have now released this service to our Members. We are on a mission to improve primary care by enhancing access, ensuring better health outcomes, and connecting people with the right care at the right time. As we continue to expand this new service, we’re looking for experienced, compassionate, and forward-thinking GPs to be a part of this exciting journey. As a key member of this innovative and new service, you'll have the chance to provide high-quality, virtual healthcare to a diverse patient base. This is a privately billed service (no Medicare hassle), so you'll be able to focus on delivering excellent care with patient satisfaction as a top priority. Naturally you will need to be comfortable providing this care virtually, and managing a cohort of dynamic patients, some may have non-English speaking backgrounds. We do require a commit to complete a minimum of two 4 hours shifts per week. We are currently looking for people with availability from Monday - Friday from 8 am to 12 am with the potential of some weekend shifts. We are flexible on shift times and are happy to support: <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Other clinical work </li> </ul> <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Child and family commitments (including those coming back from parental leave) </li> </ul> <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">GPs wanting to transition to retirement or undertake more straightforward episodic care </li> </ul> The initial engagement will be as a Causal Contingent Contractor, offering you a competitive hourly shift rates and ongoing support from our Principal GPs and experienced Practice Manager. About You This role suits a qualified Medical Practitioner with full AHPRA registration and FRACGP, preferably with fluency in languages other than English. Significant experience in the use of GP patient management software and a good level of IT literacy and comfortable conducting clinical assessments virtually but also able to collaborate with your wider team through various digital tools and collaborative software such as MS Teams.
